ISO octanoic acid is an organic chemical product with a wide range of uses. It is mainly used in coatings, plastics, leather making, medicine, chemicals, chemical fiber, pesticide, transportation and national defense, but most of them are used in the production of ISO octanoic acid. What is the synthetic method of applying such a wide range? At present, there are 3 methods for the synthesis of ISO octanoic acid:
(1) isooctyl alcohol oxidation, isooctyl alcohol oxidation is using isooctanol and Potassium Permanganate reaction in alkaline or acidic medium, generating isooctanoic acid potassium. After cooling to room temperature, acidification with concentrated sulfuric acid was used to obtain ISO octanoic acid.
(2) isooctylene aldehyde oxidation (the aldehyde oxidation), including the selection of the two main processes of hydrogenation and oxidation.
(3) dehydrogenation and esterification of ISO octyl alcohol by dehydrogenation of ISO octanol with sodium hydroxide, sodium ISO octanoic acid was prepared and neutralized with sulfuric acid to obtain ISO octanoic acid.
ISO octanoic acid is mainly used as a salt reagent for the synthesis of penicillin sodium salt in the solvent method. ISO octanoic acid, paint drier, degreased naphthenic acid, in addition, isopropyl ester is an excellent plasticizer. With the development of industry and agriculture, the demand for ISO octanoic acid is increasing year by year, and it has great potential for development.
